Meet Joshua

Mexico

Guadalajara

My name is Joshua, I am from the State of Guerrero, Mexico. I belong to a family with a very low economic income. My father left us when I was barely 5 years old and so my mother has to really work hard like housekeeping, doing laundry etc., to be able to support our daily needs and my study along with that my sister, with the little money she earns. Before I was blessed to be able to study in the Sisters of Mary, I experienced working in the farm as hired work every after class while my sister would also go to a neighborhood as a handheld so both of us could be able to add a little to what our mother earns.

I am grateful enough to be able to have this gran opportunity to study in the Sisters of Mary. My mother told me on the day of my entrance to the school: “… Son, now you have a sure means to be able to continue your study.” As I enter the school for the first time, I was emotional to know that I will live in one of these beautiful buildings and be able to know more Friends. After a few weeks, we tour around the facilities and I was very much impressed by the complete and best facilities I saw especially in the technical workshops, the classroom, the kitchen, the laundry, the big gymnasium, the music room, the swimming pool, and the playgrounds. One thing also that I cannot forget was the festival made to welcome us, it was for me a grand show of talents in music and dances.

When I grow up, I would like to be a veterinarian to so I can be able to live in a beautiful house of my own, be able to help my mother and my sister. I am trying to do well in my study this time to always maintain high marks and thanks be to God, I made always to the list of honors.

I know that all this is made possible thanks to all our benefactors who are generous enough to provide for our needs. I just can imagine that there are many of you good-hearted individuals and we cannot thank you enough. Rest assured that you are always in our prayers and that He continues to bless and keep you and shower you with more blessings.
