WHY SPONSOR A SISTER
Partner with a Sister to help support the children in her spiritual family.

Sponsor a Sister
Mother Sisters provide their spiritual children with unconditional motherly love and support. By sponsoring a Sister with a monthly donation, you show God’s love and mercy by empowering the poorest of the poor and allowing them to break free from the poverty cycle. Your sponsorship provides the Sister of Mary the means to ensure every child has what they need to thrive: a safe place to live, clean water, nutritious food, education, medical care, friendship, and above all, love, and prayer.

two ways to sponsor

Why do people prefer to sponsor by location?
While some people bond with a Mother Sister and her spiritual journey, others may feel a special calling to a specific location. Occasionally, our Mother Sisters change locations, working wherever the Holy Spirit and the community needs them most. You may direct your support to the location you feel most connected to.
By sponsoring by location your relationship will remain with a Mother Sister in the location of your choice.
Why do people prefer to sponsor by Sister?
A Sister with the Sisters of Mary commits to a life 24/7 of prayer, chastity, obiedience, service to the poor, and three-hours of prayer every day. This life of love and service is not possible without the grace of God and the support of others. You can help be a source of support that is so desperately needed in this charitable work. Your sponsorship of a specific Sister will follow her wherever she is called to serve. The Holy Spirit and the religious community of the Sisters of Mary relocate Sisters wherever and whenever a particular need arises.
Your sponsorship will help support your chosen Sister and her work wherever the Spirit leads as you grow in a spiritually and mutually beneficial relationship with her.
What is a spiritual family?
When we welcome children into our care, the students join spiritual family groups led by a Mother Sister. The spiritual family group is usually a cohort of children in the same academic year and the same age. Each spiritual family is cared for by a Mother Sister who watches over the children’s day-to-day practical and emotional needs. She is a source of comfort, stability, and guidance for children who often come from difficult and complex backgrounds. She works tirelessly to give children a safe roof over their heads, food, and education and to prepare them emotionally and spiritually for a successful future.
Being part of a family at the schools gives the children a community of peers, people to grow and learn with, and a dedicated Mother Sister to nurture their development through guidance in and out of school.
THE SISTERS OF MARY
The Sisters of Mary are devoted to helping the poorest of the poor in Asia, Latin America, and Africa. The religious order was founded by Aloysius Schwartz, the priest of the poor. The Sisters have been operating charitable programs for more than fifty years serving children with the greatest need who have the greatest potential. In 6 countries there are 400 Sisters of Mary caring for over 21,000 children with the mission of helping them break free from a life of poverty. This is one day in the life of a Sister.
