Meet Cristine

Philippines

Biga

I am Cristine. My father, Randy is 39 years old, and he finish his studies in grade 3. A farmer. My mother is Cristina is 30 years old an elementary graduate. I have 2 siblings. I am the eldest and two of them are studying in elementary.  Before coming here, I used to help my mother at home and my brother next to me helps my father at farm. My father often borrow money for our food and basic needs specially when it is not yet harvest time of rice.

When I was in grade 6, I dream of studying at the Sisters of Mary School for free because I want to finish my studies and really help my family. I ask God in prayer to grant me the request. Until one day, there is announcement in our school that there will be online interview to those who are interested to study in Cebu, at the Sisters of Mary Schools. I take the opportunity and really hoping that I will be accepted.

I wait for the result and really praying that I will be included to those who passed the interview.  Fortunately, I was qualified and was overjoyed to know that I am one of those who will be accepted. I became excited and soon we will be in Cebu.

Here in the Sisters of Mary, everything is provided. I am contented and delighted to see many students studying here. The sisters and other older students are considerate and kind.  I am surprised too that I will not walk to far to go to my classroom. To see this kind of opportunity, I am thrilled and hopeful to finish my studies. I want to become a teacher someday and teach children so that many can finish their studies.

To all the benefactors and friends thank you for this chance to study for free and giving me a hope to see my future. I will study hard and stay positive in all my duties and responsibilities as students. Thank you and may the Good Lord bless you a hundredfold.
