Kiswahili Lesson- World Kiswahili Day 2023

The young girls at Kisarawe Girlstown in Tanzania have created a video lesson celebrating Kiswahili (also known as Swahili) for World Kiswahili Day on July 6th. It’s worth noting that Mercedes, whom we introduced in our June newsletter, also makes an appearance in this video. Language holds great significance as a fundamental element of culture, and the Sisters of Mary consistently strive to promote and honor the culture of the communities they serve. Be sure to watch their joy filled video, which beautifully showcases the girls’ affection for their language.
