Tune in to EWTN on March 13, 2019 at 10:00pm EDT to watch a special one-hour presentation on the life and works of Father Aloysius Schwartz -- founder of the Sisters of Mary and World Villages for Children.
During his lifetime, Fr. Al founded Villages for Children in South Korea, the Philippines, and Mexico where, with the help of the Sisters of Mary, he cared for and educated children from impoverished families. Following his death in 1992, the sisters continued Fr. Al's mission, expanding to Guatemla, Brazil, Honduras, and most recently, Tanzania. Since the first school was founded in 1964, the Sisters of Mary have fed, sheltered, and educated more than 170,000 children, enabling them to continue on to college or to obtain gainful employment and work to better the lives of their families and communities.
