A New Year’s Blessing from Sr. Maria

by | Jan 16, 2019

Dear Benefactors and Friends,

I warmly greet each one of you: have a Happy and Blessed Year 2019!

This simple message is a reflection on the passage from the gospel of St. John: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” (John 15:16)

These words of our Lord Jesus fill me with thanksgiving as I look back at the recent past, and with renewed enthusiasm and hope as we begin our journey through another year. I silently thank the Lord for choosing you, for calling you in a very special way, to bear good fruits – of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and goodness.

And I thank you, dear friends, for responding positively to His call and expressing it in the moment you stretch out your hands to help improve the lot of His lowly ones under the care of our Sisters. Yes, your acts of kindness have borne abundant and overflowing fruits of love, joy and peace in the hearts and lives of our children.

Now as I turn to view the challenges that lie ahead, I am filled with greater enthusiasm and hope. Because I can see in this light of hope, that your fruits will multiply unendingly, uplifting more and more lives. I believe that the love you’ve put into action, by the grace of God, will never be in vain.

And so, I thank you from the depths of my heart, on behalf of all our Sisters and children, and I pray for you constantly. God’s blessings!

Sincerely yours,

Sr. Maria Cho, SM
