Time Capsule Lowered at Inauguration of New Medical Clinic!
Thanks to help from friends of World Villages for Children, a new medical clinic is under construction, next to Girlstown, in Cavite, the Philippines.
During the formal inauguration, a time capsule was lowered which contained the newspaper for the day, marking the date of the cornerstone. Also, buried in the time capsule was a copy of the master plan of the medical clinic.
The clinic is being constructed on land directly adjacent to the Sister’s Girlstown, in Cavite, and will provide medical and dental care to the girls at our Girlstown, and also to the boys who are nearby at the Sister’s Boystown in Biga.
Also, the Sisters plan to use the clinic to train children for jobs in the medical field, such as medical technicians, nurse’s aides, patient care, and other health care vocations.
The time capsule is ready to be lowered! In the background you can see Girlstown. |
Sister Michaela and visiting dignitaries hold the rope, and together let the time capsule sink into the ground. Will it be opened hundreds, or even thousands of years from now? |
The future medical clinic is blessed, in honour of the children who will greatly benefit from it. |
Here you see two joyous girls who played instruments in the Rondalla band as part of the ceremony. |
